Scotsman Ice Systems Receives South Carolina Safety Award

Vernon Hills, Ill.— May 11, 2012—Scotsman Ice Systems received a Commendation of Excellence award for an exemplary safety record from The Safety, Health and Security Committee of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. The award was announced at the 2011 Safety Program Recognition luncheon on March 14 in Columbia, S.C.
Scotsman Ice Systems has been a member of The Safety, Health and Security Committee since 1996. It received this recognition because of its dedication to the health and safety of its employees and surrounding community.
“This award is a testament to our due diligence to a safety-conscious work environment,” said Greg Jarvis, vice president of manufacturing, Scotsman Ice Systems. “In 2011, our staff worked 391,009 hours without a lost-time accident.”
The Safety, Health and Security Committee of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce honored members who had successful safety records in 2011 who have had a commendable lost workday case rate.
