Scotsman Offers Most Tier 2-Qualified Ice Machines Under New CEE Specifications

VERNON HILLS, Ill.— July 26, 2011—Scotsman® Ice Systems now offers the most Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) Tier 2-qualified ice machines, which reduce water and energy consumption to lower costs. On July 1 CEE released updated ice machine specifications, which now include flaker and nugget models. Previously, only cube ice machines were eligible for CEE qualification.
CEE Tier 2-qualified ice machines meet energy and water consumption requirements that exceed ENERGY STAR® performance criteria. In addition to 29 Tier 2-qualified models, Scotsman offers 103 Tier-1 qualified ice machines, which meet specifications similar to ENERGY STAR guidelines.

CEE is a consortium of efficiency program administrators from across the United States and Canada who work together on common approaches to advancing efficiency. CEE members include utilities, statewide and regional market transformation administrators, environmental groups, research organizations, and state energy offices in the United States and Canada. CEE has not independently verified claims in this press release regarding number of qualifying models.
