Scotsman Revit® Design Files Save Time, Improves Accuracy
May 21, 2011
Vernon Hills, Ill.––May 21, 2011?Scotsman Ice Systems today announced the availability of Autodesk® Revit® Architecture building design files for all Scotsman ice machine equipment. These files save designers time by automatically uploading information such as dimensions and utility requirements, which previously required manual input for Revit projects. In addition, Revit software reduces costs associated with design errors by identifying possible issues immediately.
Scotsman is the first ice machine manufacturer to create a comprehensive collection of Revit files for Prodigy cubers, flake and chewable nugget ice machines, bins and ice dispensers.
Autodesk Revit Architecture building design software, created for building information modeling (BIM), generates three-dimensional models to support construction planning. Using Revit, team members can view changes to a digital model of the project in real time. As a result, designers can save time and reduce errors by identifying design inconsistencies early in the planning process.
“The Scotsman family of Revit design files makes it easier for designers and architects to accurately integrate our equipment into BIM projects,” said Mark McClanahan, president, Scotsman Ice Systems. “This software will help designers consider all the aspects of ice machine placement including utility hookups, ventilation and space requirements.”
Scotsman Revit design files enable designers to visualize the products in 3-D. The files include information necessary for BIM projects such as dimensions, electrical and water requirements, and material composition. The files are available for download online at www.Scotsman-ice.com, as well as http://seek.autodesk.com and www.arcat.com, Web services that let designers download BIM models, drawings and specifications.
